Filters and Display Units
The controls at the top of Analytics determine which matches are included in the analysis and how the statistics are displayed.
Display Unit
Display Unit controls the normalization of statistics.
Available options include:
- Total
- Per Match
- Per 60 Minutes
- Per 20 Minutes
- Per 1 Third
- Per 5 Minutes
Total shows the raw value across the selected sample.
The other options normalize that value to a common unit, making it easier to compare samples with different amounts of playing time or different numbers of matches.
For example, Per Match converts the selected metric into an average per game, while Per 20 Minutes normalizes the value according to playing time.
Display Unit affects multiple Analytics sections. If you want to see raw absolute numbers rather than normalized values, use Total.
Match Filters
The Analytics sample can also be filtered by criteria such as:
- Time Period
- Venue
- Match Type
- Competition
- Outcome
These filters allow you to analyse a specific context rather than automatically combining every recorded match.
Progress
The Progress area contains two main sections:
- Goal Progress
- Progress Tracking
Together, they allow you to define performance goals and then examine how selected metrics change over time.
Goal Progress
Goal Progress is designed for long-term performance monitoring.
You can define up to five goals at one time.
Each goal is connected to a specific statistic or metric and a target value.
Click Edit Goals to open the Set Progress Goals popup.

Reference Period
Reference Period determines which recent matches are used when evaluating the goal.
Available options are:
- Last 3 Matches
- Last 5 Matches
This means your target is always evaluated against a rolling recent sample rather than necessarily against the complete season.
Metric
For each Goal, select the metric you want to monitor.
More than 25 different metrics are available.
Measure
Measure determines how the values inside the Reference Period are calculated.
There are two main options:
Total
Total adds the values from the matches in the Reference Period together.
For example, imagine your goal is set to 10 Goals across the Last 3 Matches.
If your team scored:
- 3 goals in Match 1
- 4 goals in Match 2
- 2 goals in Match 3
the current total is 9.
Your target of 10 is therefore currently 90% complete.
Per Match
Per Match calculates the average value across the selected Reference Period.
Using the same values:
3 + 4 + 2 = 9
9 divided by 3 matches = 3
The result displayed for Per Match would therefore be 3.
Target Value
Target Value defines the performance level you want the team to reach.
After configuring all required Goals, click Save Goals.
The Goal Progress section then shows how close the team currently is to each selected target.
These same goals are also connected to the Performance panel on the Dashboard.
Progress Tracking
Progress Tracking allows you to follow one selected statistic across individual matches.
Choose the metric from the Metric dropdown.
The chart then displays the value of that metric match by match, allowing you to identify improvement, decline or variation over time.

Progress Tracking is also affected by the central Display Unit setting.
For example, if you want to see the actual number of actions recorded in each match, use Total.
If you are more interested in normalized performance, you can use one of the other Display Unit options.
Players & Lineups
The Players & Lineups area contains three main sections:
- TOP5 Player Profiles
- Player Ratings
- Lineup Comparison
TOP5 Player Profiles
The TOP5 section contains four player rankings:
- Attackers
- Defenders
- Controllers
- Creators
Each ranking uses a FloorballStats index designed around a specific player profile.
The indexes combine weighted statistics that are relevant to the characteristics of each profile.
For example, attacking actions such as shots and goals are particularly relevant for an Attacker profile, while progressive actions and assists are more important for a Creator profile.
These rankings are designed to provide a broader player-performance perspective than a single statistic.
Insufficient Sample
At the beginning of a season or when a player has only limited tracked playing time, you may see Insufficient Data or Insufficient Sample instead of an index.
This means the player has not yet accumulated enough tracked minutes for the index to be applied.
Once enough playing time has been recorded, the index becomes available.
Want to understand how the individual FloorballStats player profiles and indexes work? A dedicated Player Indexes guide can explain the methodology and interpretation in more detail.
Player Ratings
Player Ratings displays the current Cumulative Player Rating for each player.
The section can be sorted using the available dropdown, for example by:
- Overall Rating
- Player Number
- A–Z
FloorballStats Player Rating considers the actions recorded for each player and converts them into a rating on a scale from:
0.0 to 10.0
Field players use the same overall rating framework rather than having completely different rating systems for each position.
Goalkeepers have their own rating.
A separate Player Rating article can provide a more detailed explanation of the rating logic and how individual actions influence the result.
Lineup Comparison
Lineup Comparison allows you to compare formations using the selected statistic.
The section uses vertical bar charts, with each lineup represented by its value in the chosen metric.
You can select from the available statistics, metrics and derived values.

Lineup Comparison is affected by the central Display Unit.
Use Total if you want to see the actual recorded value.
Use a normalized option when you want to compare lineups while accounting for differences in playing time.
Missing Lineup Data
If a lineup does not display a value, there may be two main reasons:
- No relevant events were recorded while that lineup was active.
- The lineup did not record any game stint.
Lineup statistics are based on the currently active Default Lineup Group.
If you need to analyse a different Lineup Group, change the Default Lineup Group from the relevant Match Archive setup.
Lineup Comparison depends on correct lineup tracking during matches. If active lineups are not switched during Match Tracking, the resulting lineup statistics will not represent the real usage of your formations.
Stats
The Stats area contains the broadest overview of aggregated statistical information.
It combines spatial event information with team statistics across the selected Analytics sample.
Event Field Overview
Event Field Overview displays recorded events from the selected matches on one field.
This allows you to look for spatial patterns across multiple games rather than examining events match by match.

Click Filter Events to narrow the view.
Available filtering dimensions include:
- Event Types
- Team
- Period
- Lineup
- Game State
- Specific Player
This makes it possible to create much more specific views.
For example, you can focus on one Event Type, one lineup or the actions of one particular player.
Team Statistics
The second main Stats section contains the available team statistics.
Metrics are grouped into categories such as:
- General
- Shooting
- Possession
- Progression
- Defense
- Discipline
- Special Situations
This section is designed to provide the full numerical view of the team across the selected sample.
